Algebra-based AP Physics 1 TutorOnline worldwide · Barcelona
Algebra-based, but not easier: the marks sit in written reasoning and experimental design as much as in calculation. We cover all eight units, fluids included, and train the explanation that earns the mark.
Learn from experienced expert tutors who actually raise scores.
The biggest difference between a good score and a great one is who teaches you. Our tutors bring decades of experience and the kind of one-to-one attention a tutoring platform simply cannot match.
Seasoned subject experts
You are taught by experienced specialists with deep subject and exam knowledge, never a rotating roster of part-time college students.
Exam-focused teaching
Every topic is taught the way it is examined: mark schemes, command words, calculator strategy, and past-paper technique from day one.
Genuine personal attention
1-on-1 and small groups only. Every lesson is built around you and your target score, not a packed classroom pace.

How We Build a 5
Reasoning written out
Physics 1 rewards explanation. We train students to write a physics argument that a marker can follow, because that is where the marks actually are.
Experimental design practised
Design and analysis questions appear every year and are the most neglected in revision. We practise them deliberately.
Fluids covered properly
Fluids joined the course in the redesign, so plenty of older material skips it. We teach it as a full unit, not an afterthought.
Full three-hour papers
We run complete timed papers and debrief where the time went, so pacing is settled before exam day.
What You'll Learn
Kinematics
Motion in one and two dimensions, graphs of position, velocity and acceleration, and projectile motion.
Force and Translational Dynamics
Newton's laws, free-body diagrams, friction, and systems of connected objects including pulleys and inclines.
Work, Energy, and Power
Work, kinetic and potential energy, conservation of energy, and power. The largest single share of the multiple-choice score.
Linear Momentum
Impulse, conservation of momentum, collisions, and centre of mass.
Torque and Rotational Dynamics
Torque, rotational inertia, rotational kinematics, and equilibrium of extended bodies.
Energy and Momentum of Rotating Systems
Rotational kinetic energy, angular momentum and its conservation, and gravitation.
Oscillations
Simple harmonic motion, springs and pendulums, period and frequency, and energy in an oscillating system.
Fluids
Density and pressure, buoyancy, and continuity and Bernoulli's equation. Added to the course in the redesign, and often missing from older revision material.
The AP Physics 1 Exam
Three hours, split evenly between multiple-choice and free-response. Calculators are permitted throughout.
Section I: Multiple Choice
42 questions · 1 hour 25 minutes · 50% of the score
- Discrete questions and sets built around a shared stimulus or data set.
- Many questions are reasoning rather than calculation, and reward reading a graph correctly.
- Work, Energy and Power carries the largest share of this section.
Section II: Free Response
4 questions · 1 hour 35 minutes · 50% of the score
- Four fixed types: mathematical routines, translation between representations, experimental design and analysis, and qualitative or quantitative translation.
- Experimental design asks you to plan a procedure and justify it, which is a writing skill as much as a physics one.
- Paragraph answers are marked on the argument, so a correct number with no reasoning scores poorly.
Exam format verified against the College Board course page. The 2024-25 redesign added fluids and replaced the older 50 question and 5 free-response structure.
Real teaching. Real results.
“Bernat now feels confident with Math and Physics. He feels prepared for university. Suneel's help has been the key to Bernat's confidence and understanding.”
“Suneel transformed my son's relationship with Maths completely. From dreading every lesson to genuinely enjoying problem-solving, in just a few months. Incredible patience and expertise.”
